Couldn’t put this book down. What Mr. Stossel brings to the television set every week he effortlessly brings to the written word as well. Everything that you thought the government did for your benefit really only benefits lawyers. Children are not all that nice and good. Regulations prevent you from buy what you want to buy. It ticks off everything you have always had a problem with but weren’t able to put into words why. Read this book and understand why the government and the prevailing opinion is not always, actually usually not, right. BigT
This book was fun to read; it takes about a day to read if you’re a fast reader or you skim it (like I did). The facts in there are interesting and illuminating most of the time. It is well researched and written. I recommend this book for an afternoon alone or read piecemeal while sitting in your favorite spot, like the toilet for example. BigT
I’ve already talked about this book in a previous post but some things need repeating. Marcus Luttrell, the author of this book, is a great patriot. His SEAL team made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting this country. If this isn’t enough reason for buying this book you should also consider the fact that it exposes how inane liberal sentimentalities are costing us the war and our most prized citizens: our military men and women. Machiavelli has really gotten a bum wrap over the centuries. What he did was not heinous and what he proposes should be done in a state is practical and time tested. Reading both Discourses and The Prince (Bantam Classics)
has helped me understand why people do what they do and how they should have done things better. The The Art of War
, which I have not read in its entirety yet, looks like it is as good as the other two, so give it a try as well. Probably the most important thing to learn from these books is that you cannot take the middle ground and expect great things to happen, so don’t be a moderate! BigT
