First off, I think there are two distinct parts of the democrat party; the democrats and the liberals. The democrat part, while wrong and aids the liberal leadership and kookosphere, is made up of normal people who just want to live their lives. Probably not all that political: union households, blue collar workers, minorities, women, and the young make up their ranks.

But the liberals are a different story. Led by 60’s retreads they have a new following in the kookosphere. Populated by people raised on Chomsky and conspiracy theories as insane as Bush being responsible for 9-11 so he can make his oil buddies some money this minority of the American people and the democrat party, for that matter, is nonetheless gaining influence every day. Mind you, they never have had any electoral successes to date but they have great influence over the old guard currently in power.

These kooks think that the world is going to end soon in great part thanks to American corporations (i.e. greed spurred on by evil capitalism). The environmental movement is their new religion and their god is Gore, their church is the UN, and their devil is Cheney. They celebrate by holding “vigils” for military deaths and by marching for victory for the terrorist under the guise of “protecting” our soldiers. What is really scary about these people is that their ideological ancestors have done much worse with much less power.

Liberals, the blow-hard vanguard, paint a picture with their rhetoric that seems to leave all of humanity in an untenable situation. The government, according to their doctrine, is fully corrupted by big corporations thusly hijacking our’s and the world’s governments. Nothing can be done to alleviate this cancer in our system and it is affecting everything from saving the world from climate change to helping the poor in Louisiana.

I personally think that they are setting themselves up to start another revolution. Whether they’ll do anything about it I doubt. But they believe that the system is out of their control. I hear it everyday on the liberal blogs. Everyone is corrupt and they blame our government for Katrina, 9-11, and every other disaster or attack that befalls our country. If you follow the logical conclusions of their polemics there is no other option but revolution left to them.

If they can enact their policies through the government and the courts maybe their revolutionary spirit will be sated. However, as they gain in their perceived strength they also gain exponentially in their hubris. They truly think they speak for a strong majority of the population and completely believe that only their ideology is legitimate.

I do not make these claims lightly; socialists have a history of revolution. Every day that goes by without the government heeding their demands the blow-hard vanguard grow increasingly agitated. They already have made the point countless times that the government is completely corrupted which, if you follow it to its natural conclusion, only leaves one option left open.

If they lose the presidential election next year they will be incorrigible. If they win they will make even more outrageous demands. They will never be satisfied with anything done by republican or democrat.

I guess the only thing that brightens my mind after writing this is the knowledge that liberals are cowards. They will march on the Internet, seriously, and they will dutifully put their bumper stickers on their cars. But life is just too good in America to commit economic and governmental suicide. But the option is on the table for them and they might just be crazy enough to try it. BigT
